4-Day Annual Meeting of the Rotary Fellowship “Cycling to Serve”, May 23rd-27th 2018
Under the leadership of the Rotary International, the Rotary Club Aix en Provence Connection and Rotarians from the Aix en Provence area were honored to organize a 4-Day Annual Meeting of the Rotary Fellowship “Cycling to Serve”. This four-day program included cycling through the Sainte Victoire, Sainte Baume, Haut-Var and Mont Ventoux mountains.
“Cycling to Serve” is a major international event that aims to fund various local, national and international humanitarian projects with the Rotary International.
Proceeds from “Cycling to Serve Aix 2018” will go to support 3 major projects:
- Equipping and rebuilding schools in Nepal, destroyed by the 2014 earthquake;
- Purchasing handisport tandem equipment for the Sport and Leisure Association for the Blind and Amblyopes (ASLAA);
- Supporting the Rotary Foundation, which has been active for 100 years and has enabled the near eradication of polio worldwide, as well as, the funding of some of the largest school exchange programs in the world. The Foundation also supports actions in many diverse areas such as women’s and children’s healthcare, education, the fight against diseases, clean water supply and world peace.
