Montegranaro : the 33rd World Cycling Championships

The Fellowship Cycling to Serve had a great weekend around one of its biggest events of the year: the 33rd World Cycling Championships. They took place in Montegranaro in the Marche Province in Italy. After an opening night inspired by an Olympic parade, the races took center stage on Saturday: a demanding course was offered to runners from 8 different countries. 5 beautiful world champions were consecrated in the different categories (results in “palmares”). The traditional gala dinner was attended by the highest authorities (Prefect, mayors) and also by Rotary governors. This came to conclude this very beautiful organization by RC Montegranaro around Giacomo Greci.

It was of course a great pleasure to meet our Rotary family in this land of cycling History, shaped according to local legends. Those remarkable athletes must instigate all of us with respect, and bring back to our true values of Rotarians, humility, solidarity and supporting others.

The social project In favor of the three 2016 heart quake victims sustains this great spirit. This championships organization allowed for a donation to the Fenice Project (see this great action on http://cyclingtoserve2017.it/)
