3 Rotarians, Bob McKenzie, Kurt Matzler and Markus Mayr accompanied by Ruth Brandstaetter raced the terrible Race Across America for the second consecutive year in June 2017 : 4,800kms, 35,000m of height difference. This performance has been achieved in 7 days and a few hours.
Beyond this sporting performance, they managed to raise a few hundred thousand dollars: “just” a part of the $10 million dollar challenge for Polio eradication. They have reached out to all the Rotary District Governors in US with the challenge. If every Rotarian in the US would give just $30 dollars we would reach our goal.
We were about to forget : they do it again next year, June 2018… more on that later !!!
